GTA 5 ID and Texture Explained (Drawable vs Texture Guide)
If you’re using BEFF or any outfit transfer glitches in GTA Online, you’ll come across the terms ID and Texture. This guide explains them in simple terms and shows why they matter for outfit glitchers and modders.
Quick FAQ
How many textures does each item have? Anywhere from just 1 (Texture 0) up to 25.
Do IDs change? No, ID numbers are fixed. What changes is how that ID looks between male and female characters.
Why does this matter? For glitchers and outfit creators, knowing IDs and textures is the key to making modded outfits and unlocking clothing combinations you normally can’t access in GTA Online.
What is ID (Drawable)?
The ID (also called Drawable) is the unique number that represents a clothing item in GTA 5 Online. Every piece of clothing — pants, shoes, tops, masks, etc. — has its own ID number.
What is Texture?
Each clothing item can have different color or style variations. These are called Textures. Texture numbers always start from 0 and can go up to 25.
- Some items only have Texture 0 (no variations).
- Others may have a few textures (0, 1, 2, 3).
- Some can go all the way up to 25.
Male vs Female Clothing IDs
ID numbers are the same across male and female characters (for example, 136-1). But the actual clothing item may look different between genders:
- Male Legs ID 136-1: shows one style of pants.
- Female Legs ID 136-1: is still ID 136-1, but it appears as a different pair of pants.
This is why BEFF players experiment with IDs — sometimes the same number gives completely different results on male vs female, including hidden or rare merge items.
